Integrating Spirituality and Psychology for Healing and Growth

The Hope Center for Children and Families provides a uniquely designed therapeutic environment for children who suffer behavioral, emotional, and social problems. Our warm and caring staff are committed, trained, and experienced in providing appropriate and effective methods in treating children through the use of play therapy.

Play Therapy

Play therapy is specialized treatment modality primarily designed for children ages 3-11. It has been demonstrated to be effective with most diagnostic categories. Toys represent children's words, and their play is a form of self-expression. Therapy takes place when a trained play therapist communicates with children using the medium in which the children are most comfortable.

Some of the goals of Play Therapy are:

• Reduce inappropriate behaviors

• Increase children's problem solving, communication, and coping skills

• Increase children's self-esteem

• Increase children's range of emotion

• Teach children to identify and express feelings in a constructive way

Our fully accredited Play Therapists at Arizona Interfaith Counseling's Hope Center specialize in childhood depression, anxiety, grief, loss, separation, divorce issues, ADHD/ADD, and childhood trauma.

Adolescents and their families are also a special focus of counselors at the Hope Center.
