Integrating Spirituality and Psychology for Healing and Growth

What is Pastoral Counseling?
Pastoral counseling is an approach to psychotherapy which integrates the insights of theology and spirituality with the principles of modern behavioral science, in an effort to help individuals, couples, families, and groups achieve wholeness and health. Different from other forms of counseling, pastoral psychotherapy is guided by the understanding that emotional illnesses are best healed by treating the whole person, based upon both the wisdom of spiritual teachings and the knowledge of human psychology.
Pastoral Counseling is counseling that is theologically sound, spiritually sensitive, and clinically competent. A pastoral counselor is a trained mental health profession who can be seen as an extension of the faith community for those who see their faith as integrally connected to their mental and emotional health.
